This was probably one of the most luxurious things you could buy 50 years ago!

Mercedes Benz 450 SEL W116, the longer version. Equipped with most things such as electric sunroof, AC, electric windows, powersteering central locking, electric antenna

Newly inspected without any complaints and is therefore exempt from inspection, and also tax-exempt.

The car is in a nice condition, especially the interior (of course not 100% perfect but for the year model unusually good) and that most of it works including all instruments including indicator lights, even the central locking and electric sunroof were tested. Chrome and shiny details are in an unusually nice condition. See notes for other info

The V8 engine runs smoothly and nicely, doesn't smoke and is easy to start. Test driven several miles so we know everything works at all engine temperatures.

Newly serviced with oil/filter, spark plugs, distributor cap & rotor, spark plugs, fuel filter.

Rims have been refurbished and have practically new tires.

We cannot note any major rust under the car, neither in the sills nor the wheel arches. It comes with much older inspection papers and there are no rust notes. Imported from Germany in 1985, it has probably not been driven on salted roads very often.

Remarks

The AC doesn't blow cold, but the pump turns on so the system seems to be working!

Electric lift left rear door not working

The paintwork has some cracks and bubbles, with the right rear door being the worst, but the car still gives a nice impression.

The fuel gauge can sometimes get stuck at full, but after a while the needle jumps back and shows the correct level.

Please note that there may be more deviations that we have not discovered. We do not perform a complete technical inspection, but only a simple functional check and a test drive.
