The Mercedes SEC model is today a classic and this copy was sold new in Los Angeles in 1984 and was driven in sunny California until 2015 when the current owner took it to Sweden. The climate in California has meant that the car has survived very well from rust, but the sun has left its mark on the interior, which is dry cracked and bleached in places.
Due to sun-bleached paint, the car was repainted in the original color when it arrived in Sweden and was fitted with new alloy wheels and tires.
The solid V8 engine spins nicely and you have, among other things, replaced cam chains with slide rails. There is some exhaust leakage in the rear damper.
Electric lifts and the electric sunroof work as they should, however, the belt operator and the electric antenna do not work. The speedometer works (miles and km) but the road distance meter is stationary, which is why the exact meter reading is unknown.
In summary, the car is in a good cartilage condition with a solid body, but you should take the car's age into account and reckon that there is a lot to fix to get it in top condition.
The car inspected until 2021-12-31.
