Chris Craft Cavalier Futura 26"

Unusual nostalgia boat that has always been indoors under the current owner. Now the boat has had to move out because the property it was in is to be renovated and rebuilt. It is now outside but of course covered. This is the reason that the boat must now be removed and therefore we are selling it completely without reservation .

The boat must be picked up as soon as possible but no later than the end of September this year.

Manufactured in 1969.

Length 7.9 m width 3.15 m.

Built in mahogany plywood, solid mahogany and fiberglass covered hood.

Large aft with sofa, table and two chairs. Full bathing jetty behind. Sleeps 4, gas kitchen, gas heater (element), toilet. Fresh water and waste tank. Chapel with full standing height.

Lots of chrome and details in a contemporary American spirit.

In need of finishing work. Long overdue renovation and some modernization. Been indoors for the last 20 years.

Stable trailer included. Not built for the boat, but adapted so it stood safely during the renovation. Unbraked and tractor bullet.

What has been done broadly:

The center engine has been changed to an aft-placed petrol OMC Cobra 5.7l with associated drive. Reportedly completely refurbished engine (by company), but never started and stood for approx. 20 years.

The stern is rebuilt to handle the drive and hydraulic trim levels for the aisle.

Scraped, reinforced and repainted hull.

Interior and details are mostly scratched or replaced and painted. New carpet inside for the most part installed. Instrument panel renovated.

Structural damage is far repaired, reinforced and prepared for final finishing.

As well as many, many more small fixes and the purchase of original parts that were missing for a complete renovation.

Mostly documented from start to finish. See pictures.

Other: 3 copies in Sweden (as far as the owner has researched), one of which is in parts.

The boat is about 9 miles north of Umeå. About 50 meters from the E4.

Remarks

What remains largely:

Estimated effective working time approx. 150 hours.

Structurally. Finish the right side by the window in the rough.

Go through the underside of the boat and repair a wooden damage under the tank.

Plywood cover the bow and new canvas along the rail and bow.

Glue the fiberglass hood.

Lots of final finishes in the form of plaster, putty and surface layer. As well as vinyl cloth or mahogany plywood around the deck + new rubber strip around the boat.

Renovate or re-sewn chapels (fragile) as well as new, or renovate, chapel arches.

The electricity needs to be checked (what the owner has tested works, but much is untested).

Engine, drive, trim plane, fans and electricity need to be connected together.

The gas heating needs to be pressure tested and reviewed.

The trailer needs to be adapted to the boat for smooth launching and shipping.

+ many small fixes that always appear
