The raft was purchased in 2003 by the municipality of Vänersborg to be used as outdoor seating.
The supplier was NF-Bryggan AB in Högsäter. The raft has since been placed in
the harbor canal at the Residence Bridge.
Dimensions and dimensions
Based on 9 Beaver pontoons (2400x2900x800 mm). Beaver pontoons are
pontoons cast with fiber-reinforced concrete around a core of cellular plastic.
The concrete thickness is about 50 mm.
Superstructure of pressure-impregnated wood. Double beam bearings of 70x145 mm. Tires off
34x145 mm. X railings of double standing 45x95 mm, X of 45x70 mm,
crossbeams of 45x145 mm. Simple dress of 34x145 mm.
Weight and bearing capacity
The weight of the platform is estimated at about 28,000 kg. Gross carrying capacity approx. 50,000 kg.
Net lifting capacity approx. 22,000 kg (220 kg / m2). The raft sinks 1 cm per approx. 630 kg even
loading. Proposed maximum load 10,000 kg (corresponds to approx. 160 mm
lost freeboard).
Gangway
Steel gangway with pressure-impregnated wooden walkway, size 1.5x5.0 m. X railings
on both sides.
Anchoring
The raft is anchored outwards with 4 concrete anchors, weight about 1800 kg and inwards the quay
with a combination of chain and steel springs.
