Use:
Before using the tester for the first time, you must adjust it to match your pool or spa water in the following order:
- Test the pool or spa water with a conventional fluid test kit
- Record the chlorine reading level
- No adjustment is required for pH
To find the chlorine test adjustment point:
- Insert 1 AA 1.5 V battery in the compartment of the handle
- Hold the tester in one hand and the probe in the other
- Insert the cleaned metal probes into the water up to the black band
- Stir the water slightly with the probe
- With the probe still in the water, turn the wheel toward the front of the tester all the way toward the "CL". Slowly turn the wheel to the right until the needle matches the chlorine level you recorded with a conventional fluid tester (eg 1.5 ppm)
- Remove the probes from the water without touching the wheel. The indicator will move all the way to the right and stop at a letter between A and E. This letter is your "adjustment point"
Note! Each time you use the tester to test the chlorine level, you must adjust it to the "adjustment point" before testing.
Chlorine level testing:
Recommended chlorine level for pools and spas: 1.2 ~ 1.7 ppm
- Position the needle to your "adjustment point"
- Hold the tester in one hand and the probes in the other, insert the probes into the water up to the black band. Wait until the needle rests for a better chlorine reading
- Leave the probes in the water
Test pH level:
- Recommended pH level for pools and spas: 7.2 ~ 7.8
- With the probes still in the water, turn the wheel all the way to "pH" until it clicks (the battery must be turned off for pH reading)
- Wait until the needle rests on the pH reading
- Carefully dry the probes and insert the holder on the side of the tester for storage
