Firebird was Pontiac's candidate to compete with Ford's Mustang. Here we have a well-maintained Swedish-sold copy that was put into service for the first time in Karlskrona in 1975. It has since received some updates, mainly under the hood.
The oil crisis in 1973 meant that the cars (including sports cars such as the Firebird) lost power and this model was originally delivered with 185hp.
For this copy, this was remedied in 1997. Then the 6.6 liter V8 was renovated and got other tops and headers. The carburetor was replaced with a 4-port carburetor from Rochester. Estimated power is 275hp (not measured)
In 2008, diffen was replaced by one from Eaton with 3:42 in gear.
The car is repainted in VW's Monza blue, first in 1991 and then in 2004. The white stripes on the car are foiled.
Inside, the car is well maintained. Is there a repair on the back of the driver's seat, see picture.
Comes with a folder with mixed history about the car. Receipts, inspection protocols, list of previous owners etc.
A good opportunity for those who are hungry for an American muscle car!
