Many have dreamed of owning an Italian sports car, an epithet that the Fiat 124 Sport Coupé must definitely take for granted. According to the meter, this model has rolled 55087km and under the hood we find a four-cylinder in-line engine with double overhead camshafts that performs 118 nimble horsepower, as well as a five-speed manual gearbox.
The current owner's father bought the car in 2003 and it was used for a year before it was discontinued and has not been used since. It has been stored indoors and annually started and run a small distance for exercise purposes.
The car looks to be almost stainless. Has been repainted sometime in the 90's and maybe not with the best top finish, color difference from the original can be seen in the door cracks and in some places there are small bubbles in the paint that probably come from spray putty. With that said, not something you need to be ashamed to get riding in, the overall impression is good.
Inside we find nice cupped chairs in half leather. There is a small hole in the seat on the driver 's seat and the upholstery has been bleached by the sun both front and rear. Crack is in the instrument panel, see picture.
It works well mechanically, but before inspection, the exhaust system needs to be repaired as there is a leak. A review of brakes after a long standstill is probably also required. The summer tires that sit on 13 "Cromodora alloy wheels are very hard, so even if the tread depth is good, you do best to change them.
The assessment is that this is a good starting point, regardless of whether you are looking to renovate the original, add your personal touch or for that matter just inspect and use as it is.
