A very nice Swedish-sold Mercury Eight Sedan-Coupé from 1947 with a side valve V8 - 239 and manual gearbox.

If you call home this gem, both you and the admirers will surely be satisfied. A car for cruising and exhibitions.

Runs well in engine and gearbox. The engine has an Offenhauser intake and twin carburettors that are attached. An edelbrock intake is included.

Sold new in Sweden to Joel Olsson's electrical company in Gothenburg.

The bodywork has managed very well through all the years it has been rolling in Sweden.

Painted in 2002 in Volvo's saffron with matt clearcoat.

Converted to 12V

There are historical registration documents, copied original manual and report on 4 pages in the magazine Bilsport Classic from Dec 2003.

Some spare parts and an extra inner roof come with the car.

Remarks.

There is a crack in the side window in the driver's side door and the window crank does not work smoothly.

There is a paint chip and a paint damage like a 5 krone. See pictures.

NOTE : IMPORTANT INFO FOR FOREIGN BUYERS.

If the car is sold outside Sweden/Export, registration plates will be removed. It is then up to you as the buyer to bring your own registration plates or apply for temporary registration plates from the Swedish Transport Agency.

Registration documents will be sent by letter to the buyer after delivery.

Foreign buyers must email the responsible administrator for time for delivery.

If the buyer does not come himself, the buyer must email who is coming and the person's driver's license and pick up the vehicle. If this is not done, the vehicle will not be released.

The shipping company must present e.g. the invoice for the vehicle purchase so that we know what must be handed out.

The shipping company should have its own ramps.

Payment must have been received by us before you can pick up the goods, so pay in time. 
Invoice copy and proof of payment must be brought to the pick up. The buyer shall at the appointed time arrange collection, any disassembly / packing of the item.

Disposal

Disposal means that a client has goods that they wish to sell. For example, it may be a supply / storage that is needs to be emptied, or that the company has restructured and does not need office space / equipment / etc anymore. This differs from bankruptcy since it's a voluntary sale.

Three ways to bid

Classic - The bidding is fully handled by the system. The goal is to always place a bid right above the competing bidders but no more than that. The bidding service automatically places bids in your name up to your maxbid. The minimum bidding intervalls vary between items.


Comfort - Works like the Classic bid but with the difference that the system takes the current bid and reserve price into consideration in the cases there is one. A good choice if you know you’ll bid high but don’t want to get caught up in bidding below the reserve price.


Active - The bid will be the one you place and is handled manually. Good to use if you want to place a large bid from the start and take home the whole auction, but requires attention from the bidders part in case other bidder might have maxbids in place.

Service fee

Service fee is the fee that PS collects from the bidder for the use of our bidding service

No reserve price

There is no reserve price for this item. That means that the highest bid will always be a winning bid.

Reserve price not reached

The bid has not yet reached the reserve price which is the price that the seller is willing to sell the item for. If the auction ends without the reserve price being reached, one of the following will happen. 1) The seller accepts the bid and an invoice is sent to the bidder within 3 working days. 2) A representative from PS Auction calls the bidder to negotiate the price within 3 working days. 3) The seller does NOT accept the bid. The item is either not sold at all or re-auctioned.

Reserve price reached

The bid has reached the reservation price the seller is willing to sell the item for. Unless something unforeseen happens, the bidder will receive an invoice for the item after the auction has ended.
